It's here! We did it! We made it to 2018, and with that comes another incredible year of gaming. I think 2017 is going to be pretty hard to beat, but nonetheless here are the top nine games I'm most looking forward to in 2018. Please note that there are tons of games I'm looking forward to this year; if something isn't listed here it doesn't mean I'm not excited! These are just the top nine games I'm excited for!
Anthem

Even after Mass Effect: Andromeda, and despite how much I still loved it - I still believe in Bioware, and what Bioware has to give us. Anthem looks incredible, I'm so excited to see Bioware take on a new online multiplayer rpg! Everything we've seen so far appeals to me at my core, and I look at Anthem as what Andromeda really could have been. The only uncertainty I have about Anthem is whether I'll get it on PS4 or PC.
Bayonetta 1 + 2 on the Nintendo Switch

Bayonetta 1+2 are two of my absolute favourite games; all I ever wanted on the Nintendo Switch was a Bayonetta remaster, and I got it - but on top of that, Nintendo also announced Bayonetta 3 will also be coming to the Switch at an undisclosed date! It breaks my heart that so many people never played Bayonetta 2 because they never bought the WiiU, so I'm happy that with the popularity of the Switch, my favourite video game witch will finally receive the love she deserves.
Detroit: Become Human

Now, if you've ever heard me talk about David Cage before, this might surprise you - but I've played through a demo of Detroit: Become Human a few times now and let me tell you, I want this game to succeed. I want to love it, and for it to be good. I enjoyed the demo, so I'll keep my fingers crossed that the game maintains a good momentum - something that David Cage games usually lack.
God of War

I love Norse Mythology. I also love God of War - so mixing up the two has me very, very excited. Norse Mythology is something I've always wanted to see more of in games; there's so much you can do with it but it rarely seems anyone takes that kind of leap. After the massive success of Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, I can only hope I'll get to see more of my favourite gods in gaming.
Shadow of the Colossus

Okay, so it feels a little bit silly putting another game I've already played and loved on this list, but you don't understand how much I love Shadow of the Colossus. Shadow of the Colossus was the first special edition I had ever bought for a game myself; that I had saved up money for and purchased. It feels like everyone I talk to about Shadow of the Colossus never got a chance to play it, so this generation of gamers get to experience one of my first favourite games, for the first time? I'm all over it.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Is the next Tomb Raider game even going to be called Shadow of the Tomb Raider? I have no idea - I'm just going off of the leak that went around a few months ago; but lets be real, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is an awesome name. I was pretty eh on the Tomb Raider reboot, but Rise of the Tomb Raider exceeded my expectations, which gives me high hopes that the next instalment will be even bigger and better than its previous titles.
Spider-Man

Spider-Man for PS4 looks like everything I've ever wanted from Spider-Man. Potentially my favourite Marvel hero, I've loved all the footage we've seen of this game since it was announced, and I really hope we get to play it this year. I've never played any previous Spider-Man titles but I love this mashup of Batman-Arkham-esque gameplay that we've seen so far. We got the Miles Morales teaser in the last trailer; if we get anything like Spider-Gwen I might just die from excitement.
The Last of Us Part II

Honestly I don't even think I want The Last of Us Part II to come out this year. I want Naughty Dog to take as much time as they possibly can with the sequel to my favourite game, but nevertheless here it is, because there are no real words to describe how horrifically excited I am for The Last of Us Part II.
The Wolf Among Us: Season 2

To everyone who told me it wasn't going to happen, thank you for letting me know what it feels like to be a smug, cocky human. I think it goes without saying that The Wolf Among Us is my favourite Telltale game, and there was just no way they were going to end Season One on such a cliffhanger. Season Two may potentially be my most anticipated game for 2018, if only because it feels like I've been waiting for so long - and being told that it was never going to happen only makes me want it more.
